A cinematic photoshoot in Amsterdam with moody & film vibes

When Tessa reached out to me, I was already excited to work with her and her boyfriend. She is a professional model and had a lot of experience in front of the camera, and that is always a plus! We planned to do a small photoshoot in just a couple of locations nearby Damrak as the time we had was quite limited, so we decided to shoot there, to have some iconic landmark of Amsterdam, and make our way towards the Red Light District, to have a different scenario.

Cinematic Photoshoot | Sometimes, less is more

Despite shooting only for about 20 to 30 minutes, the amount of photos we took was surprisingly large, and we managed to get some amazing shots, with different poses, backgrounds and vibes.

What I always consider to be the most important thing in a photoshoot, is to bring the right attitude. It is also crucial to have an idea in mind of how you would like you photos to turn out.

For this session, we decided to go for something more passionate, (even more than I usually go with), and I let them be themselves, giving just some directions if I saw an angle was looking better in a different way. They absolutely killed it!

I personally love how well their outfits combine, how perfectly aligned they were, their connection was simply amazing. It was so magical to photograph them.

Cinematic vibes

The aim of this session was to give a bit of a moody and cinematic vibe. We focused on movement, on the interaction of them two, and mostly, on the passion they had for each other.

I am a big fan of film photography, grain in the images and that retro look these give. Amsterdam in a gloomy day gives the perfect scenario for it to happen, with those brown and muddy tones.
